Note: Written History by Josephine Zimmerman: John Zimmerman met Mary
Boercke on the boat that brought them to America. Gramdma was
very young (14 or 16) but they kept in touch in New York and
later married.

Note: Nanny Jo Called her "Nanna" Letter from Nanny Jo
(Josephine Zimmerman)[:ITAL] Ann McGoldrick and Frank McCarthy
were the first of the McGoldrick clan to emmigrate to the U.S.
and setteled in a little house in the Marlboro mountains. It
still stands, in good condition, and the last Nanny Jo heard,
was owned by Kim Novak, the actress. It was to this house Mama
(Margaret Jane McGoldrick) came when she emigrated. She then
married Papa (Frances Joseph Zimmerman) who lived in
Plattekill.
The census stated that Margaret could read and write and speak
English.
Birth note: Born on a farm outside of Omagh||
Death note: According to her obituary, she died after a long
illness. She had lived in Newburgh for 26 years (since about
1920). She formerly resided in Marlboro. She was a member of
St. Mary's Church, Newburgh, and the Holy Rosary Society.

Event note: The funeral was held from her home at 84 Lander St. on
Saturday morning 17 Sep 1945) at 10 and 10:30 in St. Mary's
Church in Newburgh where a High Mass of Requiem was offered.
Her burial by Toohey Brothers was in St. Mary's Cemetery,
Marlboro.

was Lace Curtin Irish per conversation with Daddy abt Aug. 25,
1996 McGoldrick - lived on farm outside of Omagh -- Armagh -
was next biggest city -- arrived U.S. via philadelphia The
Newtown Stewart Registry 1866 lists Patrick McGolrick as the
informant of his daughter Matilda's birth. The signature is
listed as "His Mark Patrick McGolrick." This suggests that
Patrick could not write.

Note: Mary McKenna was Lace Curtin Irish while her husband Patrick
McGoldrick was shanty Irish. Mary's aristocratic family
opposed her marriage to Patrick McGoldrick. Nanny never heard
anything more about that side of the family. No one mentioned
them. The Newtown Stewart Registry 1864 lists Mary as the
informant of her daughter Mary's birth. The signature is
listed as "the Mark of Mary McGolrick mother." This suggests
that Mary could not write.
Death note:
Funeral services were held on Monday morning at 10 o'clock in
St. Joachiim's church. James E. Battell was the undertaker in
charge.
