Burial:   
     Date:   13 SEP 1934
     Place:   Calvary - St. Luke's

Note:   The 1900 census stated that Mary could read and write, could
speak English and was at school.

Death note:    She died Monday afternoon (Sept 17, 1934), in St. Luke's
Hospital, following an operation performed on Friday. She had
entered the hospital on Thursday.
Funeral services were held Thursday morning, September 20
at 9 o'clock from the late home in Folin Heights. The casket
was open Wednesday afternoon and evening for the convenience of
friends.
A high mass of requiem was offered onSeptember 20 at St.
Mary's Church.

Burial note:    
One newspaper said the cemetary was in New Windsor and the
other nesapaper said it was in Newburgh
The funeral director was by M.H. Briscoe.

Note for:   Charles Louis (Uncle Lou) Zimmerman,   DEC 1859 - 30 OCT 1931         Index
Note:   Uncle Lou (Charles Louis Zimmerman) was born in New York City.
When he was about 19 or 20 years old, his father (John
Zimmerman) developed tuberculosis and they moved to Plattekill
for his health. Uncle Lou was an apprentice engraver with the
Tiffany Jewelers and did beautiful work. He learned the
carpenter trade after they came to Plattekill and always
followed that. He moved to Newburgh after his marriage to
Merella Melbe(sp?) They lived in John Zimmermans's place when
married. According to the 1900 Census for Plattekill, Ulster,
New York, Charles Louis Zimmerman was a farmer, he owned the
farm with a mortgage and could read and write.

1880 Census listed spelling as "Lewis."
Note:   21 years old in 1880.

Note:   Written History by Josephine Zimmerman: John Zimmerman met Mary
Boercke on the boat that brought them to America. Gramdma was
very young (14 or 16) but they kept in touch in New York and
later married. He had a beer garden, (in New York City ? in
Germany?), I understand. Papa and Uncle Lou (Charles Louis
Zimmerman) were born there. They were Lutherans. John
Zimmerman developed tuberculosis and they moved to Plattekill
for his health. John & his brother Joseph bought places in
Plattekill when they came from N.Y. John's place was always
known as "Aunt Merilla's place" She & Uncle Lou always lived
there when they were married Joseph's place was just beyond
John's place on right side
