Thomas Moran liked his drink. Frequently the horse &
buggy would come home and he wouldn't be in it so grandpa
(Edward Joseph Moran) would have to go look for him and would
find him lying on the side of the road where he fell out of the
buggy, drunk.

Thomas was a horse trader. He would make cosmetic improvements
to horses that were not in good shape. He would fatten them up
with arsenic, apples. and water. He would then sell them.
The horses would die from the stress of hauling a carriage
uphill.
The horse story was told by Thomas' daughters (Agnes, etc.) to
their nephew (Edward Francis Moran).

Per 1900 Census, he rented a house, Thomas could read, write,
speak English and he was naturalized.

John Zimmerman (Frances Joseph Zimmerman,s father) developed
tuberculosis and they moved to Plattekill for his health when
Frances Joseph Zimmerman was about 14 years old Uncle Lou
(Charles Louis Zimmerman) was about 19 or 20 years old.
Interview with Daddy: Frances Joseph Zimmerman converted to
Catholic from Luthern
The census stated that Frank could read and write and speak
English.
Note:   15 years old in 1880

Death note:    According to his obituary, he died at the age of 75 and
had been in failing health for several years.
The funeral was held on Monday November 1 at 9 a.m., from
his home. At 10 a.m. High Mass of Requiem was offered in St.
Mary's Church. The burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery,
Lattintown, by Toohey Brothers.

Burial note:    Rev. Joseph Manners presided at the funeral at St. Mary's
Funeral Director was Toohey Bros.
